a career in photography. In this fun-filled, two-hour, information-
packed presentation, Billy Brown will share his knowledge of the business
of being a professional photographer. Topics such as business administration,
planning, marketing, selling, systems, estimating and copyright control
will be discussed. Handouts will be provided. |

STUDIO LIGHTING TECHNIQUES Billy will share his many secrets for effective, simple lighting for studio and location. He will break down the elements of light into easy-to-understand terms and illustrations. The use of sun light, ambient light, studio strobes and hot lights will be discussed. Techniques for lighting people, places and things will be demonstrated in class. Lighting tools will also be demonstrated. Handouts will be provided. |

PHOTOGRAPHING THE DANCE Billy Brown has been photographing the Alabama Ballet for over 15 years and has published a book of his dance images. In this workshop, he will share his techniques and expertise of photographing dancers in motion, and will cover lighting techniques including natural light, strobes and hot lights. Participants will have the opportunity to photograph dancers from the Alabama Ballet. |

Gorham's Bluff Institute - Photography Workshop
with Billy Brown Billy Brown will lead an intensive one-day workshop at Gorham's Bluff. Participants will have the opportunity to photograph the beautiful natural environment of Gorham's Bluff, along with its people and buildings. They'll learn how to compose an image, how to use natural light, how to choose lenses and camera positions, how to make background and foreground complement each other, and more. |
